What is aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy is derived from two words:  Aroma meaning fragrance or smell and therapy meaning treatment. The use of aromatic plants and essential oils has been around for thousands of years and can be traced back as far as 3500 BC.

Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils from plants, trees and flowers to promote physical and mental wellbeing.  Different oils have different properties and benefits. Essential oils can be absorbed through the skin, inhaled and in some cases ingested depending on the treatment/therapy required.

Why does it work on dogs?

Dogs noses are 100,000 times more powerful than ours and as such they are many times more receptive to the powerful healing benefits of essential oils.

Can I use aromatherapy on my cat?

No. Aromatherapy is very dangerous for cats as they can’t process many  essential oils. Under no circumstances allow your cat near essential oils.
